Guangzhou launches expo showcasing green, digital transit tech

The first Guangzhou International Expo on New Energy and Digital Technologies for Public Transportation opened on July 24 in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, attracting more than 1,000 insiders, including experts from relevant

industries and representatives from public transit associations and companies.

The event featured both forums and exhibitions, showcasing the latest technologies and products in public transportation, focusing on the integration of new energy and digital technologies.

Exhibits included self-driving taxis, new energy buses, and urban management robot systems. One autonomous driving bus on display allowed passengers to observe its operation via an interior screen and camera. The bus has a top speed of 40 kilometers per hour, and can operate 24/7 in all weather conditions. Guangzhou has already launched 10 routes using such buses.

Organizers said the expo aims to provide a platform for domestic and international partners to exchange ideas on developing new energy and digital technologies for public transit.
