Chinese snooker player Yan Bingtao has been suspended from World Snooker Tour on Monday, becoming the seventh player so far this season banned by the WPBSA for allegations of match fixing.

The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) released a statement on Monday, saying that chairman Jason Ferguson has taken the decision to suspend Yan from attending or competing on the World Snooker Tour with immediate effect.

"This decision is part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of manipulating the outcome of matches for betting purposes in breach of the WPBSA Conduct Regulations," read the statement. "The suspension will remain in place until the conclusion of the investigation or any subsequent charges that may or may not be brought. Yan Bingtao has the right to appeal this decision."

Earlier, Lu Ning, Li Hang, Zhao Jianbo, Bai Langning, Chang Bingyu as well as Liang Wenbo have been suspended from attending or competing on the World Snooker Tour for the same reason.

Yan, 22, is world No. 16 at the moment. He won the Masters as a debutant by edging veteran John Higgins in the final last year.
