National mind games introduce grassroots events to compete online

The Fifth National Mind Sports Games opened in Hefei of East China on Sunday.

The open group for grassroots chess and card lovers nationwide has

been introduced for the first time this year and participants will compete in Chinese chess, chess, bridge, gobang, draughts and poker virtually.

The online platform service will be provided by Migu Co Ltd, a subsidiary of China Mobile and one of the country's leading digital content unit. Migu will assemble one leading platform from each of the games in a competition zone and contestants can participate through all forms of platforms such app, applet, PC and TV.

Foul plays will be under tight watch as real-name registration and cloud monitoring will be introduced. The monitoring data will be preserved for refereeing replay.

The games is guided by the chess and card sports administration center of the General Administration of Sport and has been endorsed by Migu as a long-term annual event.

The number of auditions reached as high as two million since the enrollment began on July 1. The final round will pick 64 players who will compete in Hefei in October.
