Zhu Lin wins Chinese derby to reach Hua Hin final

China's Zhu Lin defeated compatriot Wang Yafan with two straight sets at the WTA 250 Thailand Open at Hua Hin on Saturday and will meet

Diana Shnaider in the final.

No. 2 seed Zhu is also the defending champion. While Wang had an eye-catching performance at the Australian Open and advanced to the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time. Zhu beat Wang 6-3, 6-2 in the semifinal and moved into the final at Hua Hin.

In the other semifinal, Shnaider reached her second tour-level final following Ningbo 2023 by defeating No. 3 seed Wang Xinyu 6-2, 7-6.

In the doubles semifinals, Chinese pair Guo Hanyu and Jiang Xinyu saved a match point in a tiebreak to narrowly defeat Kamilla Rakhimova and Yana Sizikova 6-2, 4-6, 11-9. Guo and Jiang will now face top seeds Miyu Kato and Aldila Sutjiadi in the final.
