August 5 in 2023 or the 19th day of the sixth lunar month is Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’ s Enlightenment Day. On the occasion of special causes and conditions, China Songshan Shaolin Temple, the ancestral monastery of Chan sect and the holy land of Kungfu, held the dharma assembly to mark Bodhisattva’ s Enlightenment Day, including blessing, chanting, sacrifice offering and other Buddhist rituals, solemnly and majestically. The event was presided over by the great monk Shi Yongxin, abbot of Shaolin Temple.
