The project "Audiovisual China Enters Europe" which promotes cooperation between Chinese and European audiovisual institutions was launched Tuesday night at the China Cultural Center in Paris with a screening session.

style="margin-bottom: 15px;">In the framework of the project, some 150 hours of high-quality audiovisual works will be broadcast in five countries, including France, for one month.

According to the organizers, the project allows reciprocal broadcasting of programs and sharing resources, and aims to enable even more Europeans to discover the contemporary essence of the Chinese culture, and foster communication between the Chinese and European peoples.

At the ceremony, Yan Chengsheng, director of the International Cooperation Department of China's National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA), said that China and European countries have different historical and cultural backgrounds, but their pursuit of common values and aspiration for a better life are similar.

"By viewing the audiovisual works of each, we can deeply perceive a resonance of thought and communion of emotions, which is also the primary intention of this audiovisual project," he added.

Shen Jun, chairman of the Board of Directors of Shanghai Media Group, said the broadcasting of each other's audiovisual works "will strengthen bilateral practical cooperation between China and Europe in the audiovisual field, as well as mutual knowledge and the friendship between the Chinese and European peoples."

During the ceremony, Season 2 of the documentary "China On the Move" was screened. The documentary focuses on China's political system, economy, scientific innovation, ecology and well-being of the Chinese people.

Didier Bernheim, correspondent member of the Academy of Fine Arts, Institute of France, told Xinhua that China has made huge efforts in ecological transition and green development.
