The 29-year-old center-back has inked a contract valid until June 2024, which includes an option to extend the deal for an additional year with the Bavarians.
"We are happy that we were able to sign Eric Dier. He has played a role in our considerations for this transfer period for a long time. Eric will be a valuable part of our defense. His athletic skills and international experience will help the team," Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund said.
Bayern's new arrival is a versatile defensive specialist, capable of playing both central and right-back positions, as well as in defensive midfield. Dier joined the Spurs in 2014 and has amassed 365 competitive appearances, contributing 13 goals. At FC Bayern, Dier will be reunited with fellow Englishman Harry Kane.
"This transfer is a dream come true for me because even a child you want to play for clubs like FC Bayern one day. FC Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world and has an incredible history. I want to help the team with my versatility. I am really looking forward to my new colleagues and to the supporter in the Allianz Arena, which is in my opinion one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world," Dier said.
Since 2015, Dier has been a member of the England squad, making 49 caps and scoring three goals. Second-placed Bayern Munich is set to kick off the second half of the Bundesliga season against Hoffenheim on Friday.
