Paris Saint-Germain assured their place in the Champions League quarterfinals on Tuesday with an impressive 2-1 win away to Real Sociedad thanks to two goals
The French side advanced with a 4-1 on aggregate.
On Tuesday night, Mbappe opened the scoring in the 15th minute as the Madrid-bound striker, who looked to be out of space near the goal-line, shimmied inside two defenders before unleashing a low shot that curled in at the far post to leave Real Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro helpless.
Remiro had to make a reflex save on the half-hour as Mbappe appeared on the right and fired low at his near post, with the goalkeeper sticking out a providential leg.
PSG kept controlling midfield, closing down spaces and making it hard for the home team to find its forwards Take Kubo, Sheraldo Becker and Mikel Oyarzabal.
Kubo did have Real Sociedad's best chance of the first half, with a curling shot that went close to the far post.
Mbappe sealed the win in the 56th minute when the home defense pressed up to halfway, leaving an ocean of space behind them. Lee Kang-in played the ball inside Hamari Traore for Mbappe to run onto and from an angle, he fooled Remiro with a near-post finish.
Real Sociedad only began to threaten when the tie was beyond them, with Ander Barrenetxea seeing a header ruled out for offside, before Becker flashed a ball across the face of goal and Mikel Merino fired over.
Merino scored a late volley to give Real Sociedad an 89th minute consolation.
