The first East Asian Youth Games 2023 opened at the National Central Stadium in Ulan Bator on Thursday evening.
The opening ceremony of the inaugural
edition of the quadrennial event had been set to open on Wednesday, but was delayed by 24 hours due to heavy rain in Ulan Bator.
More than 1,500 athletes from nine countries and regions are competing in 11 sports including athletics, badminton, basketball, table tennis, wrestling and e-sports.
