Chacarra leads golf China Open

Spanish golfer Eugenio Chacarra stood at top of the leaderboard after the second round of the Volvo China Open in Shenzhen on Friday.

Chacarra, who

was in the second flight out from the 10th hole at Hidden Grace Golf Club, made a four-under 68 to lead at a nine-under 135.

"A good round overall - a good back nine but very sloppy at the end of the front nine," said Chacarra.

Former champion Zhang Huilin of China finished a three-under 69 as his five birdies were offset by two bogeys, sitting equal second with his compatriot Chen Guxin at an eight-under 136. "For me, the 17th hole was very important," Zhang said.

Chen completed his second round with a four-under 68. "I usually play three rounds well and then I can't play well in the fourth round," Chen said. "I think it's mainly about my mindset. If I made adjustment to my mindset, I would have done better."
