Beijing player Li Ke fined by club for on-field misconduct

Beijing Guoan announced on Monday that they have imposed an 80,000-yuan fine on their midfielder Li Ke for his misconduct in a Chinese Super League

(CSL) match last Sunday.

Li was sent off in the 87th minute of that game at Qingdao West Coast after he grabbed Qingdao player Zhao Honglue by the throat and pushed him down.

The player's misconduct resulted in his sent-off and subsequent disciplinary penalty from the Chinese Football Association (CFA), which "seriously affected the Beijing team's competitive edge and blemished the club's image," Beijing Guoan said in a statement.

The Beijing club said they also demanded Li to reflect on his misbehavior and make a confession.

Before Beijing Guoan slapped the fine on Li, he had been suspended for four games and fined 40,000 yuan by the CFA.
