Beijing university hosts Belt and Road forum

The Belt and Road Forum on Scientific and People-to-people Exchange and High-Quality Development, which brought together participants from 16 countries, concluded at University of Science and Technology Beijing recently.

Representatives from

universities and international organizations from countries including France, Thailand, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and Egypt convened to discuss how to promote international scientific and cultural exchange and cooperation, as well as how to advance the development of higher education.

At the opening ceremony, Wu Guilong, the Party secretary of USTB, presented a detailed overview of the recent initiatives and successes of the university in internationalization efforts. He expressed USTB's commitment to deepening scientific and people-to-people exchanges with a more open mindset and practical approaches in the future, in order to elevate scientific innovation cooperation to a higher level.

In recent years, USTB has leveraged its strengths in first-class disciplines such as the history of science, metallurgy, material science, and mining to collaborate on training talent and exchange programs with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The university has already trained over 5,000 international students from countries involved in the initiative.
