Crime thriller 'A Place Called Silence' rakes in more than 600 million yuan in box office

China's domestic crime thriller "A Place Called Silence," has generated a total box office revenue of 633 million yuan (88.75 million U.S. dollars) as of Thursday, data from the China Movie

Data Information Network showed.

The movie, which focuses on the topic of campus bullying, generated a daily box office of about 62.6 million yuan on Thursday and continued to stay on top of the Chinese mainland box office chart.

The second and third place were still occupied by Disney's "Inside Out 2" and Chinese epic drama "A Legend." The latter is the latest work of action movie icon Jackie Chan.

The total box office revenue of the Chinese mainland on Thursday stood at 94 million yuan.
